As someone said, pets are only as smart as their masters, so your stalker isn't retarded, you are. With all the new pets around, pretty soon, the stalker will be unique, because the rest of you will have all the others.
I still have the same one I got way back when my ranger was still fairly young and he is awesome. I wouldn't and haven't trade him for anything.

Very cool stuff coming. But I have to admit, Anet "reviewing bow skills for possible changes" scares the poo clean out of me. I love my Ranger and don't want her touched.

I think the updates are cool - but the mini pets in town will just increase elitism.
'Zomg look at my pet! Alls you have is a (insert most disliked pet here)'
Bad idea. Now I'll have the fact I sold my Kuunavang rubbed in my face even more ;(
I'm so looking forward for the pet and mesmer changes Just in time! Was planning on buying a character slot to make a PvE mesmer.
Edit: Thanks alot for the heads up Gaile! We all love you!

Amen! I'm sorry to say that this is at the top of my list but seems to offer the least concrete info on when it will happen. The game came out 3 and a half months ago... i still don't know why we couldn't get the max title at the outset. I would suggest A-net make two "to do" lists. One titled "Neat ideas" and the other "Unfinished business", and that the latter ALWAYS get priority.
For me the game is an unfinished product until that SS point cap BUG is fixed. All changes/morphs to all other titles can wait. This is one of very few titlse that actually has a practical in game use, so yes, it does rank with notable importance on my list, and unless i actually read anything from A-Net on it's status, I'll assume it doesn't rate on their list of important things (since they are spending time on mini pets and the like).
grumble grumble i should stop now...

Yeah, it's too bad that all it takes is for a few people to say, "[profession/skill/build/tactic] sucks and is useless!" and an entire cross-section of the community avoids it like the plague. I remember a time early in the life of the game when people said things like that about Necromancers. People just needed to take some time to learn how to play them.

WOW! great update
Looking forward to pet controls, maybe we could get something like Eye of the Beast in WoW(Flame shield on) that lets you control your pet for 2 minutes , here it could be like 30 sec to look around the corner or agrro a group without placing yourself in danger.

Two hero quests have been updated, Gain Olias and Gain Zenmai. Now, if you've done these quests, you'll not be able to redo them, but all character who have not completed these quests will find them new and improved.
|
Hopefully you made the Olias quest's difficultly more in line with the area it's in. lvl 20+ monsters in a six-person area where the henchies are weak as hell= DO NOT WANT...

We reduced the effectiveness of the Dervish form Avatar of Grenth. Even with our previous changes, this skill was overpowered compared to other Dervish elite skills and other Enchantment removal options.
|
Duhhhh. No matter how much you jack back the time it lasts and jack up the cast energy, you won't change the fact it removes an enchant with every attack skill. Why not just reset it and have it remove health and energy every time an enchant is removed?

Limiting to 3 per class per group in PvP would fix that easily without completely breaking a class for all other types of gameplay.

No, they don't. The other guy made an excellent point. If people want to compare this game to a TCG, then it should have similar rules - limiting the number of cards in a deck, or rather primary professions in a group.

You don't need 8 of a single profession to spike, do you? Or 6, even? No, you don't. Say goodbye to your argument.
Edit:
I want to edit this post to extend a "thank you" to Gaile Gray and ArenaNet. This thread is the kind of communication I've been thirsting for. Thank you very much, Gaile. I really mean it.

I somewhat agree, you should not have to deal with 5 obsidian flame's with nothing to obstruct yourself to protect from the spike. We all know Infuse Health is a good counter yet the Infuser has more skill then the spike team combined, yet the spike team has an advantage... skill? Not entirely.
I'm glad you finally posted with some good updates Gaile, it means ALOT when you keep us informed. No worrying, no rumours, we just know.
Although I am sad to see since I personally have made LOTS of posts about Avatar of Grenth that instead you decided to take the 'easy' way out and just shorten duration instead of just changing its function.
I hope the ranger skills will be buff's, and I hope that you review the alliance system as well. I somewhat question the use of Mesmers in PvE already, my guild loves it when I grab mine. I have no problem as a mesmer in PvE but what could you honestly give it to deal good damage/control and not break it in PvP?
Either way keep posting Gaile... and ffs please make the Rit hero easier to obtain I've given up.

I agree completely. Paragons are now worthless in PvE which is 98% of what I play. I would like to post for a moment of silence for our Paragons.

Maybe if they sorted out how to get the Max Sunspear title (as was mentioned a long time ago when the DoA update was being talked about) instead of working on things such as having pets in town then I would see an improvement.......

I'm wondering if the mini-pets will apply to Guild Halls. I know my guild would really enjoy that, I'm hoping thats included as well.
Wow, its 5 central time and it hasn't happened yet

Your right about one thing, the stalkers actions are my fault, like i stated i had always assumed that pets suck due to people stating/never using them. I dont particularly like his model, but also like you said, you wouldnt trade your pet for anything, i may keep him. BTW, how do we figure out what kind of pet he is? Dire...etc. I do disagree with stalkers being unique some time, probably a lot of people who wont trade their pet either.
